How a hand is played
- You and the dealer receive two cards. One dealer card is face up.
- Number cards count at face value, J, Q and K count 10, an Ace counts 1 or 11.
- Hit to take a card, Stand to stop, Double to double the bet for one card, Split to divide a pair into two hands.
- Going over 21 is a bust and loses the hand.
- The dealer draws to 16 and stands on 17. The closer hand to 21 wins.
- A natural blackjack (Ace plus a ten-value card) usually pays 3:2.

Basic strategy for everyday hands
- Always split Aces and eights. Never split tens or fives.
- Double on 11 against any dealer card except an Ace. Double on 10 against 2 to 9.
- Stand on hard 17 and above.
- With hard 12 to 16, stand against a dealer 2 to 6, hit against 7 to Ace.
- Hit soft 17 (Ace plus six) or double it against a dealer 3 to 6.
- Skip insurance. It is a separate bet with a poor return.
A full strategy chart covers every combination, and many RNG games show the recommended move as a hint. Practise in demo until the decisions feel automatic, then move to live tables.
Common mistakes
- Taking insurance or "even money" every time the dealer shows an Ace.
- Standing on 12 against a dealer 2 or 3 out of fear of busting.
- Raising bets after losses to "win it back".
- Spending most of the budget on side bets, which have a much higher house edge than the main game.
Card counting does not work online: RNG games reshuffle every hand and live tables use several decks with frequent shuffles.
Blackjack usually counts little toward bonus wagering, so regular players at GreenBet tend to rely on VIP cashback instead of the welcome bonus.
